A MOTHER-DAUGHTER BOND WOVEN IN LOVE AND DRESSES

Eldest daughter followed by two young brothers, Princess Georgina and her mother Brittany share an extraordinary connection. Their mutual appreciation for beauty, keen eye for fashion, genuine passion for elegant dresses and most of all deep love has created a bond which transcends the ordinary. Making their outfits coordinate is much more than a stylistic choice. Beyond the mere joy of dressing up, it’s a way to express their fondness for one another, to enhance their precious relationship and to create timeless memories.

The princess Georgina Dress

Since our first encounter in 2020, Brittany has been a constant wellspring of inspiration. One of our first projects together was a heartwarming article sharing love and support during lockdown.

Her kindness as well as her impeccable style and refined aesthetic sensibility have continuously impressed us. When she appeared in that exquisite soft blue Zimmermann dress with delicate ruffles, we were instantly captivated. The shade perfectly matched one of our own blue fabrics creating an irresistible occasion to design a complementary piece for her daughter. Thus, the Princess Georgina Netti dress came to life!

Brittany graciously collaborated with us throughout the creative journey. We decided on our iconic Netti design, a favorite silhouette that Gigi has joyfully twirled in for the past five years. To echo the subtle bow adorning the waist of Brittany's gown, we incorporated bows within the smock pattern and added our signature butterfly bow at the back of Georgina's dress.

Mum and Daughter Interview

This mother-daughter creation presented the perfect opportunity to explore their special relationship through a heartfelt interview.

What is your favorite way to spend mother-daughter time together?

Brittany:  “I really love setting up little tea parties for Georgina in the garden. We bring out the tea set, treats, and stuffed animals and dolls to join us. I’ll find a fairy garden playlist on Spotify to make it feel really magical. She loves dressing up and having that time together. It’s one of those motherhood moments I wished for and dreamt of as a little girl.” 

Georgina: “Going to the garden center and looking at flowers with Mama.” 

Brittany: “When I was pregnant with Georgina, I felt myself seeking flowers. I would walk and walk through the garden center aisles with my big bump. I just felt so much happier and more serene amongst the blooms and greenery. I think it was Georgina! We love spending time planting flowers outside and watching our garden grow.” 

What cherished tradition have you created that's uniquely yours?

Georgina: “Dream dates!” 

Brittany: “To help Georgina fall asleep, I started planning dream dates with her at bedtime and we plan where we’ll go together in our dreams. We talk about where we’ll go, what we’ll do there, and even what we’ll wear. Paris is a popular destination!”

What quality do you most admire in each other?

Brittany: “I admire Georgina’s kindness. She is a nurturing soul and always has been. Whether it’s her brothers, a friend, or a classmate, she shows such compassion and empathy for others. I really love that I can always count on her to cheer up a crying little brother, help a classmate after a fall on the playground, or help a friend pick up a spilled bag. She reminds me of my grandmother and is such a caring, loving person.”

Georgina: “She’s kind.” 

Can you describe a moment when you felt especially proud of your daughter?

Brittany: “The day Georgina met her baby brother Nicholas was probably the proudest day of my life. Georgina was SO happy, just beaming as she looked down at his little bundle in her arms. ‘I just love him!’ she said simply. I thought my heart would burst. She has been the best big sister, displaying such patience and kindness, especially with little Nicholas.” 

What have you learned from one another that you couldn't have learned from anyone else?

Brittany: “Since Georgina is my first child, she is a very special blessing to me. I never knew how much I could love another person until the day I had Georgina and realized a mother’s love is truly infinite and incredible. It was only through Georgina I was able to see how beautiful and wonderful motherhood is; I learned I absolutely love being a mother.”

Georgina: “Mama teaches me to put on makeup and be kind to my brothers.”  

If you could give your mom/daughter a gold medal, what would it be for?

Brittany: “Kindness!” 

Georgina: “Taking care of us.” 

What's the simplest thing that never fails to make your mom/daughter happy?

Brittany: “Georgina adores stuffed animals! Any kind, but the softer and sparklier, the better. When she was a toddler she would gingerly line up her stuffed animals and dolls around her crib. Sometimes we didn’t know how she would fit in the crib with so many stuffies, but she absolutely insisted and still loves them piled in her bed to this day.”

Georgina: “Flowers! Mama loves her pretty flowers so much.” 

When you think of your relationship in ten years, what do you hope will remain unchanged?

Brittany: “I really hope Georgina and I are always close. I was/am extremely close with my grandmother and mother; I miss my grandmother so much, but I look back so fondly on all the memories we made together. To this day, my mother is my best friend. I love doing everything with her and call her multiple times per day. She gives me such guidance and is my sounding board. I hope Georgina and I have that kind of bond.” 

Georgina: “I hope we always have tea together.” 

Can you share something about your mom/daughter that most people wouldn't know?

Georgina: “Mama loves stuffies too!” (Dissolves into a fit of giggles) “And sparkly things.” 

Brittany: “True on both accounts. Georgina is incredibly bright and curious, but it’s not always apparent because she tends to be quiet and shy. She isn’t the type to raise her hand or speak out. But she wants to know everything! She loves science class at school, trying science experiments at home, and reading the “Magic School Bus” books.”
